Author Guidelines
The Journal of Law and Social Change Review welcomes high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of legal scholarship and interdisciplinary research. Authors are encouraged to carefully read and follow these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.
1. Scope of the Journal
The journal accepts manuscripts related to, but not limited to, the following fields:
- Criminal Law
- Civil Law
- Constitutional Law
- Administrative Law
- International Law
- Social Sciences
- Interdisciplinary studies on law and society
2. Types of Manuscripts
The journal accepts the following categories of submissions:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Conceptual or Theoretical Papers
- Case Studies
- Book Reviews (by invitation or editorial approval)
3. Originality
Submitted manuscripts must:
- Be original and unpublished.
- Not be under consideration by another journal.
- Be free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of research misconduct.
- Represent the authors' own scholarly work.
All submissions will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.
4. Language
Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread before submission.
5. Manuscript Format
Authors should prepare manuscripts using the following format:
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Paper size: A4
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Page numbers included
- Continuous line numbering is recommended
6. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should generally include the following sections:
- Title
- Author(s) Name
- Author Affiliation
- ORCID (recommended)
- Corresponding Author Email
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- Keywords (3–6 keywords)
- Introduction
- Literature Review (if applicable)
- Research Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements (optional)
- Funding Information (if applicable)
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- References
7. Title
The title should:
- Be concise and informative.
- Clearly reflect the content of the manuscript.
- Ideally contain no more than 20 words.
- Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.
8. Abstract
The abstract should:
- Contain 150–250 words.
- Briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusions.
- Avoid citations and undefined abbreviations.
9. Keywords
Provide 3–6 keywords that accurately describe the manuscript and facilitate indexing.
10. References
Authors should:
- Use recent and relevant scholarly references.
- Ensure that the majority of references have been published within the last ten years where appropriate.
- Include DOI numbers whenever available.
- Use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
The journal requires the use of the citation style specified in the journal template.
11. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should:
- Be numbered consecutively.
- Include descriptive titles or captions.
- Be cited within the text.
- Be of high quality and suitable for publication.
- Indicate the source when reproduced from another publication.
12. Ethical Requirements
Where applicable, manuscripts involving human participants must include evidence of ethical approval from the appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee.
Authors must disclose:
- Funding sources
- Conflicts of interest
- Any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in preparing the manuscript
AI-assisted tools may be used only to improve language or readability. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted work.
13. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal's scope and quality standards.
Suitable manuscripts proceed through a double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on reviewers' recommendations, the manuscript's scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal.
Possible editorial decisions include:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision.
14. Publication Ethics
Authors must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics policy and the ethical principles of responsible scholarly publishing. Any evidence of plagiarism, duplicate submission, data manipulation, or other research misconduct may result in immediate rejection or retraction.
15. Copyright and Licensing
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all materials included in their manuscripts comply with applicable copyright laws.
Upon acceptance, articles will be published in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policy.
16. Submission Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:
- The manuscript fits the journal's scope.
- The manuscript is original and has not been submitted elsewhere.
- The manuscript follows the journal template.
- All references are complete and correctly formatted.
- Tables and figures are properly labeled.
- The abstract and keywords have been included.
- Conflict of Interest and Funding statements have been provided.
- All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the manuscript being returned to the author before peer review.
